Title or Location: Morning Preparations in the Upstate Mountains
This was painted with a studio model and friend in the upstate in SC.. not far from Asheville, NC. Over the course of months and years it has undergone many changes- like a repainting of the hand holding the clip, background color from green to red and a shrinking from horizontal to square?.&127912&10084&65039&128540

Title or Location: Sandhill Cranes
While visiting Kentucky a few years back, a large flock of Sandhill Cranes flew over my In-Laws' home, cooing as they went. I had never heard of them but did some research and was mesmerized. Birds are my favorite subject and Sandhill Cranes are beautiful, with pastel glints in their feathers and those gorgeous red heads!

Title or Location: Shy Bunny
This is a wet felted piece. I made this one as an example for my Beginning Wet Felting students. It can be finished in one sitting. It uses a natural batting of Cheviot wool for the first two layers, then numerous colors of Merino for the bunny and colored background, and then lots, and lots of locks for all the bushes and flowers.

One of my lines of enquiry is the notion of transcience and regeneration in urban environments and how skylines change and evolve over a period of time, boasting architectural treasures from different periods., creating a great juxtaposition between different building types, such as sthe old chapel with a tower resembling a Venetian campanile and the modern glass skyscrapers. The painting was completed in 2019 in gouache and the sky based on a photograph I took early in the morning.
